Bermingham Controls designs and manufactures a complete line of steam vent silencers for the steam industry. In our forty years' experience as one of Los Angeles' premier steam and process equipment suppliers, we have seen all types of steam vent problems. Over 30 million people are packed in and around the nation's top oil refining center. The electricity generation demands are enormous. The silencer shown above was recently built for one of Dresser Consolidated's big model 13900's. The valve size is 18" x 22" and has a discharge of 1,630,000 #/hr at 250 psig. The estimated noise output without a silencer is 157 dBA. Ouch!
Our design will attenuate this noise with a combination of rapid expansion, flow redirection, frequency shifting and noise absorption. This unit was specially designed with a built-in expansion joint to handle 3-1/2" of thermal movement in the inlet piping.
We can customize the design quickly and economically to fit your needs. High pressures are no problem.
